Yes, photos are very important part of our history and a record of things we may not remember at a future date. Some have suggested that taking over 10,000 pictures during the first 5 years of my granddaughter life was excessive. I thought it was normal.

My best friend of 40 years passed away last September. In fact, his wife died just six months earlier. His family decided to hold a memorial for him and his wife last Saturday. Everyone attending was asked to bring their photos of the couple. This meant going through all of my photos from the past 40 years. When going through the pictures I was surprised how few photos I had. Even though there were over 50 it was not enough. It was not a good representation of what we did and how close we were. Pictures are each a treasure that can’t be created after the fact.
